Farm Land is situated at Badulla Uva Province in Sri Lanka. Farming is carried out with modern internationally accepted techniques with the advice of prominent agricultural experts in Sri Lanka. Ceylon Organic Farming is a family company that was originated with the vision and leadership of Air Vice Marshal Jayanath Kumarasiri, primarily an Aeronautical Engineer by profession, who served the Sri Lankan Nation for over thirty-five years. He was the former Director Aeronautical Engineering and a Diplomat, now in the Aviation MRO and Airline Industry. A qualified quality management professional in the fields of ISO 9001, ISO 14000, ISO 18000 and ISO 26000 (Social Responsibility). He has performed as a National Mirror Committee member for Sri Lanka in the formulating of ISO 26000. Mrs. Subashini Kumarasiri who is passionate about organic farming and taking an active role in the farming activities, mainly focusing her attention on the social responsibility of our stakeholders.

Air Vice Marshal Jayanath Kumarasiri who is primarily an Aeronautical Engineer by profession, served the Sri Lankan Nation over 35 plus years. The former Director Aeronautical Engineering and a Diplomat, Now in the Aviation MRO and Airline Industry.

Social Responsibility

Ceylon organic Farmers (COF) has identified and recognizes ISO 26000 as the guideline for social responsibility, as it being the world standard. All our stakeholders and farmer community wellbeing are vital for our COF growth and sustainability. COF is determining to improve quality of life of all our stakeholders and farmer community who are our backbone for sustainable development. COF strongly believes in fair trade practices for farmers groups when trading is carried out.

COF Employment Policy

Employment selection procedure is based on “fit for the Job” criterion not considering any ethnic group, race or National origin. COF recognized women empowerment in job opportunities and employment will be evaluated based on individual performance and commitment. No underage is employees under the age of 18 years will be employed under no circumstances as a COF policy.

COF policy on Human Right

Our COF policy outlines that all workers and farmers are treated with respect and dignity and will be working on stipulated job descriptions for efficiency and productivity.

COF Employee welfare and occupational safety policy

In line with the ISO standards we have a due and responsibility to protect COF workforce with providing of adequate safety education, welfare measures and importance of use of personal protective equipment. Work force will be further educated on personal hygiene and cleanliness of personal attire. medical services are provided with introduction of annual medical screening checkups for COF employees and farmer community are being encouraged on such medical requirements.

COF policy on environmental protection

COF believes in green environmental policy. We comply with all required regulatory environmental legislations and we strive to keep our environment clean and safe. COF has established a waste water management system inline with the said policy. All our organic waste is being transferred to the organic fertilizer plant for proper disposal and better use.

COF policy on stakeholders and community development

It is COF policy to first focus on our stakeholders and their immediate family member’s welfare and needs. In this context education for children takes priority. While addressing the economic and environmental issues of the stakeholders, COF mainly focus on employing quality of life. A happy contended employee is an asset to the COF family. Supporting to nearby schools, hospitals and religious venues will be our important aspect of SR policy.
